Update for May 31st:
The DNR has recently announced the times and locations of 15 public meetings around the state meant to gather public comment on the proposed gear restrictions. If those opposed to the additional gear restrictions outnumber those in favor of them at the public meetings, then these additional restrictions for the PM may be lost.
While we realize that many of you will not be able to make a trip to Michigan just to voice your support publicly, please pass the word on to your local fly shops, clubs and friends in the region who might be interested in this issue and able to speak in favor of the restrictions. Comments on any proposed gear restrictions can be made at any of the meetings around the state, however we expect opposition to be strongest at the Bitely (June 7th) and Cadillac (June 10th) meetings of the Central Lake Michigan Unit. Our goal is to have as many people speaking in favor of restrictions on the PM at these two meetings. All meeting times and places can be found here.
