Pere Marquette Fishing Report- March 9th

The PM is defrosting nicely, while the lower river is still locked solid in ice the upper half is mostly open. As of a few days ago, Gleason’s was still frozen over but it may be open now.

While there are lots of steelhead around, especially in the flies-only, the bite has been slow. The water is low, clear and cold with peak temps around 33. Everything will only get better as temps and river levels rise. Once it starts melting there is plenty of snow to keep the river high for a lot of weeks.

We still have openings for what is eventually going to be a great spring steelhead season.  For more information, please visit our Pere Marquette Steelhead page.

The first pic is of Upper Branch Landing, the next at Lower Branch and then Scottville.
