A little rain and the start to a mild winter is extending the steelhead fishing. In fact, the fishing is as good now as it has been all fall.
In a recent trip we put many in the net and a couple of them were big, with one about the size of an average Michigan king (14-16 pounds).
I’d love to say that we’ve been tearing them up on streamers but the truth is that it has been eggs, eggs and hex nymphs. I’m confident that we would do well on streamers but haven’t given them a chance.
The water is in the high 30’s, is up a little and with a bit of color.
