Pere Marquette River Fishing Report- March 28th

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but this isn’t too bad.  The fishing on the PM has declined from off-the-chart great to good.  Today showed more fresh steelhead than the past two and that is an upward trend that could lead to more greatness.

The water is clear in the Flies Only but there is still some stain lower.

Don’t be afraid to work the holes, the river is chuck full of drop back hens with some pre-spawners, especially in the pockets around gravel.

Eggs are still the main course but we’ve been doing well in low light with swing flies (buggers, leaches, bunny flies, …) in the 2-3 inch range.

There were a lot of kids on the river this week because of spring break, it was really nice.
