Fishing has been steady to good over the past week or so here on the Pere Marquette. Water is back to normal levels and quite clear which means the steelhead are holding where they are supposed to hold. While we haven’t had much luck swinging streamers recently, reports from other folks are that fish are responding to swung streamers fairly well. Egg patterns are still fishing best for us, including peach glo bugs, clown eggs, and 8mm trout beads. Nymphs have been fishing very poorly for us so far. I’ve been fishing a hex nymph and egg indicator rig almost exclusively when not swinging streamers and have yet to catch a fish on the hex nymph.
