Pere Marquette fishing report -Aug 21st

There are a good number of king salmon in the lower river, but we’re still waiting for a big push of fish. On Saturday Josh and Matt were up from Indiana and we hooked five, landed one. We also stumbled upon a pod of about 15 pushing upriver over a shallow sand flat. Pretty cool to see. Fishing was best in the morning, but we did hook one after noon.

All the fish were hooked on either a Dave’s Kaboom redhead fire tiger or a madflash fire tiger Thunderstick. Salmon fishing will only get better from here on out and we’re looking forward to it. These fish are big and fight really hard and are a lot of fun.
