The squeaky wheel gets the fish porn. After my bellyaching last week, Kevin sent along a couple pics of some large Beaver Island carp. Last year the guys saw more very large fish than they had ever seen before. Looks like the trend continues this year.
They still don’t have a scale up there, but we’re pretty confident that there are a lot of 30lb+ fish around Beaver and there were a couple last year that were probably flirting with 40lb. The fish that Bill (rain jacket) is holding, while not very long, is possibly the widest carp Kevin has seen. Its head was 14 inches wide. FOURTEEN INCHES WIDE. That’s wider than Steve’s head.
