Perfect end to a day.

Steve West from the Beaver Island Chamber of Commerce and NorthernIslander recently booked a day to hit the flats of Beaver Island with his son Gavin.  We lucked out with flat calm conditions, perfect for sight casting but something we don’t often have around the breezy islands.

We were off to a good start with a carp in the boat first thing in the morning, followed by many more, including one by Gaven that was in only a few inches of water.  Though the icing on the cake was Steve sticking the biggest fish of the day, a thirty-one pounder, on the very last cast of the day.
