New airline service to our neck of the woods

Getting to northern Michigan via air has never been easy (unless you happen to have your own plane). Muskegon, Traverse City and Grand Rapids all have major airline service, but they are all at least an hour from the Pere Marquette River and they are all quite expensive.

Enter Frontier Airlines. They are starting service to Manistee on April 18th. Hallelujah! Can I get an amen! Manistee is only 30 minutes away and Frontier is offering some incredible introductory fares. $29 each way from Milwaukee. Cleveland and Columbus Ohio for only $79 each way. Pittsburgh for $79. New York City for $79. Philadelphia for $99. San Antonio, Dallas and San Francisco for only $99 each way. Holy crap. Flights must be booked by April 18th for travel through May 26th in order to take advantage of these special fares. Though even after these introductory fares expire the average flight to Manistee is still more than $200 cheaper than the same flight into Muskegon. Again, can I get an amen!

With gas at $4 a gallon already here in northern Michigan, these flights are a fantastic option. In fact, if you book a trip with Indigo Guide Service and fly into Manistee, we’re more than happy to come pick you up at the airport and take you back when you’re done fishing. Book some lodging in downtown Ludington. Walk to the beach. Walk to Jamesport Brewing Company. Walk to House of Flavors. Or book a cabin at Barothy and we’ll even swing by the grocery store so you can stock up on provisions.

May is peak trout season here on the Pere Marquette. Why not fly up like the jet setter you are?
