Michigan DNR confirmed a cougar sighting from September 8th in Ontonagon County in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The animal was caught on a trail camera. This is the first confirmed sighting in the state since 2009. Though officials think that both of these big cats are migrants. The last know wild cougar was killed in 1906 near Newberry MI.
Read the DNR’s press release about the sighting. And click here to see the trail camera video. Yep. I’d say that’s a cougar.
