- Still quite a few steelhead in the upper and middle sections of the Pere Marquette. Kevin’s boat hooked nine yesterday. And with all this talk of carp lately, we had to be slapped back to trout reality by good caddis and Hendrickson hatches. The river has cleared nicely and the browns are looking up. I went on a bit of a trout fly tying bender yesterday and hope to use them to great effect today. Ahhh, who am I kidding? I’m going to throw streamers.
