- While they seemed to have stopped blogging, Bottom Hand posts up a bit of Pere Marquette history from Ernie Schwiebert. The fact that all steelhead in the Pere Marquette are wild, and date back over 100 years, is one of the reasons this river is so special.
- Big warm up on the way here with temps in the mid 30s through next week. This is the first significant warm up since late December and should have the steelhead on the feed. If you’ve been wanting to scratch that wild steelhead itch, there could be no better time this winter. Maybe the lower river will open up as well? We can only hope, because for a long time it’s been better for walking on then fishing. Steve and I floated a section of the middle river today and saw a lot of fish, but only hooked one.
