Hex are here. Saturday night there was a modest hatch and few feeders. On Sunday night they showed up in force, a superhighway twenty feet above the river, millions of mayflies speeding upstream. There were quite a few feeders after 10:30 pm. I tied into a couple 12″ fish, but never did get onto a nice one. Water temp was 64 degrees. Mosquitoes weren’t bad, but the gnats were thick.
Not to let the hex hatch get in the way of our parade of big fish, please find below some nice Idaho browns I caught last week. Their long lost cousins are waiting for me on the PM. Pig smallmouth on the blarg tomorrow. Stay tuned.
