My daughter and I hit the river a few days ago to see if she could get into some of these spectacular fall steelhead. Luck seemed to be in her corner as she landed her first steelhead on the fifth cast of the evening.
She casted, drifted and set the hook all on her own, in fact, I was getting my rod organized and wasn’t even paying attention. Though her excited noises, fish splashes and drag zinging quickly got my attention. The fish made a nice jump right in front of her.
She was all smiles and so was I.
