Operation Michigan Tropical – day 4

Unfortunately Caleb and I had to had to catch a flight off the island to catch his flight from Traverse City at 1pm. JP took the first ferry at 11:30am. Kirk, Tim and Will put in another short day with Kevin and Steve on the boats and caught some fish.

All in all our media outing to Beaver Island was a great success. Very nice. We’d like to thank all those who made it possible starting with our terrific media members: Kirk and Tim, Will, JP, Caleb, and Bill. We were very lucky to have six great guys who love fishing and enjoy adult beverages. The folks at Beaver Island Lodge went out of their way to put us up in some first class accommodations and feed us some first class food. Thanks to the Shamrock Bar and the Harbor Market for putting up with us. Beaver Island Boat Company and Fresh Air Aviation were very generous in donating fares. Steve West from the Beaver Island Chamber of Commerce went out of his way to make our trip seamless and enjoyable.

Thanks to all on Beaver Island. It truly is one of the best and most unexpectedly exotic places to fish in the United States.

We still have some great June and July dates open on Beaver Island, so if you want to get up and enjoy the islands, this summer is a great time to do so.

Here is one of my favorite pictures from the trip: Bill Konway with his first carp on the fly. Not a bad first carp Bill. Not a bad first carp at all.
